1 Asking the Right Questions
A Human Rights Approach to Ending Trafficking and Exploitation in the Workplace The Advocates for Human Rights

2 Labor trafficking is when an employer, recruiter, supervisor, or someone with authority over the worker exercises so much control that the person feels they can’t leave the job even if the working conditions are horrible. In labor exploitation, the employer profits by violating labor laws, not paying people, not paying for safety equipment, but without the same level of control over the worker.

3 Protection and Assistance
Findings Identification Protection and Assistance Enforcement

4 Moving forward Get training – learn to recognize labor trafficking and labor exploitation. Know the warning signs for yourself and others. Support robust protection for victims and prosecution for offenders. The government needs to allocate funds and change laws, so being strong advocates for that is crucial. Value a society where workers are treated with dignity – demand that government and corporate policies respect this as fundamental.
