3. What is a Master Teacher?
We became Master Teachers through an appointment by our state, our school, and our directors. The appointment is made based on criteria from the National organization and in our case it was through the HEALTH SCIENCE MASTER TEACHER INSTITUTE offered by the National Consortium for Health Science Education. There was a fee that was paid by our districts after the selection process was complete.

Classroom strategies for student engagement
Pedagogy
Technology
STEM
Data driven classroom

5. Master Teacher Role in NYS
Disseminate education to our state, schools, and regions
Provide professional development as needed within our school district and state
Assist other programs in Health Science Education by supporting, educating, and assisting

6. Work in progress
Contributing to Alignment of National Standards to NYS
Participate in NYS HSEA committees that serve our members professional development
NEW- Linda Romano has been assisting other programs with development of their curriculum within the state
NEW- Linda is also developing an online education link for access to lesson plans and other materials a health science teacher in both secondary or adult can access.
