Imagine if you can live near the Amazon River.
Where can you live? Is there any food in there? What will happen to the River in the future? It is hard to live there but its possible

How it was formed The Amazon River was formed by weathering and erosion. First, a river goes down the hill. The water pushes the rocks, and over a long time, the rocks crack. The water gets into the cracks and it creates more cracks until it opens and breaks apart. Over many years, the river makes a V-shaped valley. When the land is flat, the river curves.

Housing (shelter) It is difficult to live in the Amazon River. People now can live in a tree house. They can be built with wood from the forest trees, and they are safe from crocodiles and other land animals.

Food and water In the Amazon River there are food such as bananas, clams, crabs, blueberries, grapes and Paicha. People suffer because there are no clean water. But if they know how to filter the water then they will survive. The people have to make a wooden pot and cook the water from inside the pot and then you might have clean water.

Plate tectonics Plate tectonics and weathering and erosion can set a lot of problems. If plate tectonics continue to move what might happen is the river will split into 1 or more pieces. This happens if one plate moves under another plate. Weathering and erosion can make your settlement fall apart because of floods and earthquakes.

As you can see, in the Amazon River, there is a big chance to live in that dangerous place. There are many resources such as wood, food and water. Be careful when you want to stay near the Amazon River!
