4. Beowulf Timeline
Arrived at the land of the Danes and prepared to meet Hrothgar
Met Wulfgar, told that, “The great king of Danes, commands me to tell you that he knows of your noble birth” ( )
Accepted the challenge of Grendel for Hrothgar
Defeated Grendel, temporarily ended the terror threatening the Danes
Grendel’s mother attacked and took Hrothgar’s dearest friend
Asked by Hrothgar to defeat the mother, located, “They live in secret places, windy cliffs, wolf-dens where water pours from the rocks, then runs underground, where mist steams like black clouds, and the groves of trees growing out over their lake are all covered with frozen spray….
