Neural Tissue

Neural Tissue Neural tissue is specialized for the conduction of electoral impulses from area of the body to another This tissue is vitally important to be able to have information transferred from one area of the body to the next The neural responses are designed to give us information about our surroundings to make sure that we can survive in the environment we are given

Neural Tissue Over 98% of the neural tissue that is in the neural tissue in the body is located in the brain and spinal chord This is tissue that is designed to interpret and respond to signals that that are given to us It keeps us safe and whole

Nerve Cells Neural tissue interprets and controls all of the sensory input that the body has the ability to take in Since there five senses and millions of different ways that you can perceive the world, it might be suppressing to learn there are only two different types of nerve cells They have to be able to understand the world around you

Nerve Cells Neurons are cells specifically designed to interpret chemicals and give off electrical signals based on their interpretations Neurons do not have the ability to reproduce and have very limited ability to repair themselves This means neural damage is often long lasting or permeant

Nerve Cells The longest cells of your body are neurons
They can be over a meter long The bulk of that length is from the axon The axon is a long thread like fiber that conducts electrical signals The dendrites are branch like structures that transmit electrical signals to the next cell

Nerve Cells Neuroglia are a group of supportive cells that help to maintain and support the neurons The functions of these cells range from anchoring and support to insulating the neurons These cells are
