1. Have a PM run this effort like a project using standard PMI best practices 2. Engage your general counsel and inspector general from the beginning 3. Take advantage of existing IT and business unit documentation 4. Don’t overthink the requirements (this is where legal comes in handy) 5. Develop a standard 1B-26 template for use in verifying other systems 6. The project was a lot of work, but not as difficult as we first thought
