8 SWOT Analysis

9 SWOT Analysis Take 15 minutes to review the SWOT template
If possible do this with someone from your school or board and identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to your technological education program

10 MYP Templates MYP “considerations” are listed in the CODE (Council for Directors of Education, “Creating a Culture of Safety Mindedness”, February 2017 : This update outlines activities underway as part of the Student Injury Prevention Initiative (SIPI) Phase Three Project, and provides information to assist boards in the development of their three- to five-year SIPI Phase Three system plans.

11 Example of a planning template

12 Develop a Mission Statement that describes the following:
Key behaviours Your core business Benefits you give your students and or community

13 Example of a Mission Statement
The Technological Education Program at xxxxx DSB will have the finest technology programs in the province (board, region, etc.) by attracting and developing the finest staff, by clever application of resources and by making real connections in our community that results in outstanding opportunities for our students.

14 Sample Catalysts for Creating a MYP
Vision by teachers, school administrators or the board leadership team based on student current and future needs Response to external pressure (e.g. parents, employers, local government, etc.) Respond to EDU requests for multi-year planning such as Student Injury Prevention in technological education

15 Next Steps on your MYP Review your board Multi Year SIPI Plan (just submitted to CODE) Continue researching your program/school/board strengths and challenges Collaboratively develop your rationale for investing into Tech. Ed. and in drafting a MYP involving teachers, school administration, board leads, parents, employers, local government Present the rationale and MYP to board’s senior team with internal and community leaders to procure a positive response for the Board to approve the plan deliverables, management structure and funding Contact us if you have questions in your mission !
