4 The Initiatives Lime – Used in numerous subgrade improvements for Council projects and NDRRA. Now to be incorporated in Townsville City Council’s subdivision design for subgrade improvements Cement – Utilised in sub-base and basecourse improvements on the majority of Roads throughout the Townsville network. Foam – Utilised in low level causeways damaged during cyclone events. SPA is organising MATTA testing for future projects and Council will complete designs . Enclosed Mixer – this machine was used due to the urban environmental concerns With nil complaints received. Project Waste Materials – Utilised as a re-sheeting material on rural gravel roads. Also many community clubs had their properties damaged during the cyclonic events and were repaired with these material saving them and ratepayers thousands of dollars. Various working hours – as many projects were located around businesses and Schools, SPA and Council performed works out of hours and on weekends reducing any impact on the community.
