5 Focus On NBIMS-US Ballot Pipeline
Generating content worldwide with Global BIM Guide Wiki Office practices Proven practices from assoc. Proven practices from other countries Coordinated with existing ballots Standard practice approach to be voted on for consensus We are also working with the international community in developing the ballot pipeline. There are a lot of good ideas out there and we need a compendium to advance them – They are not all ready for prime time – they need to mature and we need to track them so we can focus effort instead of all going in different directions

7 National BIM Standard – United States® Proven Practice
The National BIM Standard – United States® is in the process of publishing its third version and is truly coming of age. The standard is bringing the pierces together in proven practice as identified on these slides. Some parts are full standards, such as ISO others are simply guides thus far. USACE has done over 500 BIMs – over those projects they have matured contract language. They incorporate the BIM Execution Guide, Level of Detail, COBie, IFC, and OmniClass to accomplish work. Version 3

8 National BIM Standard – United States® Proven Practice
This then demonstrates the number of organizations that are working together to get information to flow and interoperability to become a reality. This diagram for example represents the work of The Corps of Engineers, Penn State University funded by the Pankow Foundation, AIA/AGC and BIM Forum, buildingSMART International with ISO – IFC and CSI with OmniClass.
