2 What is the Macro-Environment?
The macro-environment refers to a broad range of social forces external to the firm, that influence it, these forces include: Technological, Economic, Demographic, Natural, Consumerism and Socio-cultural.

3 Technological Factors
Technology helps marketers in their practice. Technology plays a bigger part in peoples lives these days therefore buying things online is a lot more popular. Firms are becoming a lot more competitive because of technology.

4 How technology affects the Macro-Environment:
Technology helps business’ to expand. Business’ have created websites for online shopping. This couldn’t be possible without technology. Business’ have to adapt to technology because it’s a very popular way of shopping now. The social media helps a lot with advertising to customers.

5 How technology affects the Macro-Environment:
The company ASOS use social media a lot. ASOS has a Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest account. They also have a mobile phone app. “As of August 2013, 63% of our total sales were from outside the UK.” – ASOS. This website has better communication with their customers If you need to change or enquire about something all you have to do is ‘Tweet’ them. “ASOS has won numerous awards for its social strategy and clocked up millions of fans and followers in the process.” – David Moth.
