3. The old Library is the largest library in Ireland, it contains more than 6 million books and it’s also the permanent home to the famous Book of Kells, a 9th century gospel manuscript. Visitors who enter in the Old Library through the library shop can also go to see the Book of Kells, that it’s protected like a treasure. The main room of the old library it’s the Long Room which is 65 meters long and has got two hundred thousands of the library's oldest books.
