Like the massive data warehouses of old, Wave requires that you move all your data into Wave before you can analyze it. This is true even of Salesforce data. With Tableau, you can connect to your data right away, wherever it lives. You're not required to move all your data before analyzing it.  2. Wave doesn't have the power and flexibility of Tableau desktop for authoring. For example, it can't currently do mapping or a lot of statistical features.  3. The price point is currently very high and suitable only for large enterprises. We have also not heard of many customers actually implementing Wave-- in the dozens, not even hundreds.
