2. History
The city of Kosice was created in The town was a military fortress to the 18th century. The city received the city seal in 1369.

3. Presence
Kosice is the second largest city in Slovakia. In 2013 the city was given the title of the European Capital of Culture. It is a big city with 355,000 people.

The city center is the largest monument in Slovakia. „Dóm svätej Alžbety„ (St.Elisabeth Cathedral) is the largest monument and largest church in Slovakia.

5. Nationality
In Kosice, there live poeple of more than one nationality: Slovak, Hungarian, German and Polish The city is internationally known. There is also a Roma district, and there is also a Roma regional office. Romas can attend theater and Roma´s primary school.

There is no river in Kosice. The city has two lakes and three water tanks.

8. U.S. Steel
Steel production in Slovakia is one of the oldest manufacturing branches. Iron was produced here as early as 600 years B. C. In November 2000 the ownership of the complete metallurgical operation of the East Slovakian Steelworks was successfully transferred to the U. S. Steel Group

Zoo is located in the city of Kosice. It was opened in There's about 142 kinds of animals. It is the only zoo in Slovakia, which has built a botanical trail.
