Students will be able to select brushes based on size, medium, and technique. Students will be able to connect with the style and subject matter of select art history movements. Students will understand the differences between tempera, acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints and demonstrate the use of each. Students will be able to employ the elements and principles in their paintings according to different assigned criteria. Students will select and explore a variety of subject matter for observational and expressive pieces. Students will be able to write a personally critical artist statement regarding their art.
