2 Continuing Program of Activities
Develop the IDEAS Data Model To specify the minimum set of data elements, attributes and relationships needed to support coalition force planning Develop the Data exchange specification Specifies the interchange standard for participating IDEAS members and forms the main body of documentation used for configuration management of the data exchange mechanism Develop the Data exchange mechanism Specifies the data exchange format for IDEAS (probably based on XML technologies) Co-exists as part of each nations architecture repository solution

3 Meeting Objectives Focus on using the BORO methodology to support the IDEAS analysis over the week Existing IDEAS model will be used as the base model Tidy up the IDEAS model with a top level foundation Use the BORO methodology to integrate the other models into the extended IDEAS model Scope will be Comms laydown –followed by focussing on System and Organisation

7 Methodology and Approach
Participants explored the use of Business Objects Reference Ontology (BORO) methodology to clarify concepts Participants continued to: use UML as modeling language derive model from agreed operational constructs provide complete semantics

8 WG Decisions IDEAS WG has agreed to use the UK MODAF Meta Model extensions for evaluation in the evolution of their equivalent models Rules for the development of the IDEAS model were established and agreed to with the BORO methodology as the basis Possible Sep 06 meeting for IDEAS model review, location and confirmation TBC Next confirmed meeting scheduled for Oct 06 – Washington DC, following the US DoD Enterprise Architecture Conference

9 WG Decisions (2) National Reps will interface with J6 Staff to determine a communications infrastructure matrix prior to next meeting (holdover from prior meeting) Chairperson of the IDEAS WG for the next 3 meetings is handed over to Kim Lambert, Australian DoD Meeting minutes and access to IDEAS WG material will be made available to Sweden

10 Actions(1) Prior to next meeting:
UK MOD will develop and propose the top level ontological model to be used as the 80% solution based upon the results of this meeting and the 0.3 IDEAS model Using the approved methodology, clean up 0.3 version of the IDEAS model National representatives will identify and provide additional operational scenarios for further model development Validate proposed IDEAS meeting schedule

11 Program of Work Schedule
Mid-September 2006 (TBC) Dependant on progress of work October 27 – November Virginia Beach and Washington, USA Meeting will occur following the US DoD Enterprise Architecture Conference (24-26 Oct 06) March Canberra, Australia May/June 2007 (not to conflict with CWID 07) Ottawa, Canada Oct/Nov 2007 Meeting will occur following the US DoD Enterprise Architecture Conference Location TBD
