3 IPEDS: Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System
The completion of all IPEDS surveys, in a timely and accurate manner, is mandatory for all institutions that participate or are applicants for participation in any Federal financial assistance program authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. IPEDS data are a public face of our institution.  They are used by students and parents, through the College Navigator website, to aid in the college search process; at the federal, state, and local level for policy analysis and development; at the institutional level for benchmarking and peer analysis; and by professional associations, private businesses, and the media.

4 IPEDS: Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System
COD will be included on the College Navigator website ( a college search tool designed for parents, prospective students, and high school counselors. The IPEDS Data Feedback Report, produced annually, compares COD to a group of similar institutions on a number of indicators.  This report is available through the Executive Peer Tool ( IPEDS data are tabulated at the national, state, and sector level; tables are available through the Tables Library (  And you can access data for your institution and all other IPEDS-participating institutions at the IPEDS Data Center ( where you can compare institutional data, create reports, download data files, and more!

6 Cal-Pass My.calpass.org The only system that collects data about student success and transition from every segment of education, K-16. Informed by data, powered by inspiration and developed through collaboration—Cal-PASS partners identify problems, develop local solutions, and bring them to scale across regions and throughout California to achieve Success at Every Level. The work done by Cal-PASS is focused on problem identification through the use of data. Whenever Cal-PASS staff or Professional Learning Council (PLC) participants identify a problem, educators work on solutions. Educators have used Cal-PASS data to take a critical look at student outcomes and improve student achievement.

13 ARCC – Accountability Reporting for Community Colleges
In 1995 the State of California and the California Community College system implemented the Partnership for Excellence (PFE). PFE was designed to improve student performance on five outcome measures over a 10-year period. The measures were: 1a. Transfers; 1b. Transfer Prepared; 2. Degrees and Certificates; 3. Successful Course Completion; 4. Workforce Development; and 5. Basic Skills Improvement. Beginning with the 2006 academic year, the State of California and the Community College system have renewed their commitment to improving student performance. The new program is called Accountability Reporting for Community Colleges (ARCC).

14 ARCC STUDENT PROGRESS AND ACHIEVE MENT RATE –DEGREES/ CERTIFICATES/ TRANSFERS PERCENT OF STUDENTS WHO EARNED AT LEAST 30 UNITS PERSISTENCE RATE First-time SUCCESSFUL COURSE COMPLETION CREDIT VOCATIONAL COURSES ANNUAL SUCCESSFUL COURSE COMPLETION RATE - CREDIT BASIC SKILLS COURSES CREDIT ESL IMPROVEMENT RATE CREDIT BASIC SKILLS IMPROVEMENT RATE The purpose of ARCC is to evaluate each college’s performance based on the state’s educational outcomes priorities, to present a fair picture of how colleges across the state are performing, and to provide colleges with information that will help them to improve their programs. ARCC indicators track a cohort of students as they progress through the California Community College system.
