1 Animals By Fatima

2 About animals Animals are a part of nature. They are living creatures that walk , move, hunt, and more. Although they don’t often live past 30 years of age, if they do, they can live to be over 200 years old. Some Scientists believe that bowhead Whales may be the oldest living mammals on earth.

3 Dangerous animals. All animals can be dangerous. Most wild animals are dangerous species which hunt for pray. 10 deadly animals that kill the most humans are sharks, jellyfish, cape buffaloes, lions, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, snakes, and scorpions.

4 Why are cats tongues so rough?
The tongue of a cat has tiny, backward- facing barbs on it and they’re the things that create that rough feeling . They make it easier for a cat to grate the meat from the bones of his prey.

5 Why don’t cats like water?
Cats don’t fear water, they’re actually good swimmers. They just don’t like being in water, because it’s hard for them to get dry again and because the water might remove oils from their fur, or take there skin off. My two furry boys don’t like water but some times Little Mishy splashes the water on the ground.

6 Do Cats Cry? Cats can do a really sad meow, but it’s not like crying. It’s not tears rolling down their face, but they can still feel that emotion and sadness.

7 Animals that have fur Animals have fur to keep them warm and protected them from heat. Theses are some animals that have fur.

8 Where do we take care of animals?
Animals are wonderful part of our lives. They bring us joy and even make us laugh. We take care of animals by taking them to the vet now and then and check if they have dieases and need to be treated.

9 Antarctica is the largest desert in the world.
Antarctica is the coldest , windiest, highest and driest continent on Earth. But there are some animals that live in Antarctica. Snow Leopard Penguins Krill Whales Seals Albatross

10 Plants Some animals called carnivores only eat meat. Others are called herbivores and they only eat plants. Animals that eat meat and plants are called omnivores.

11 Dog facts Dogs sense of smell is 10,000 times stronger than humans. The Norwegian Lundehund is the only dog that has six toes on each foot! Labradors are the most popular breed in the United States. Dog have at least 18 muscles in each ear.

12 Animals that eat Fish. Animals that eat fish include other fish like sharks, pikes, walleye, barracudas, mackerel, tuna, swordfish, marlin, and codfish. Mammals that eat fish include dolphins, black and brown bears, seals and sea lions, sperm whales, gray whales, killer whales, fin whales, and humpback whales.

14 Bird Facts Birds have feathers , wings, lay eggs and are warm blooded.
There are around 1000 different species of birds worldwide. The ostrich is the largest bird in the world. Birds have hollow bones which help them fly.

15 Gorillas Facts Gorillas can catch human colds and other diseases.
Scientist have said that gorillas show personalities. Gorillas will clean each other by combing each other with their fingers and teeth. Gorillas spend their time on the ground rather than in the trees and will make nests on the ground each night.

17 Animals can get sunburned
Birds are protected by feathers and reptiles by scales. Mammals such as elephants and rhinos and even freshly shorn sheep can get sunburned, just like us.

18 Tiger facts The tiger is the biggest species of the cat family.
A group of tigers is known as an ambush or steak. Tigers are good swimmers and can swim up to 6 kilometres. Tigers usually hunt alone at night time.

19 Dinosaurs facts A person who studies dinosaurs is known as a palaeontologist. The longest dinosaur was Seismosaurus , which measured over 40 metres, as long as five double – decker buses. The heaviest dinosaur was Brachiosaurs at 80 tonnes. It was the same as 17 African Elephants.

20 How many teeth do dolphins have?
There are dolphins with 8 teeth and there are some with Bottlenose dolphins have teeth. They only get one set of teeth for life. Dolphins do not use their teeth to chew their food like we do. They use their teeth to catch their food and then they swallow it whole.

21 Can Dolphins see above the water?
They sure can! Bottlenose dolphins have excellent vision both above and below the water. When dolphins look at objects under water, they produce oily substance that covers their eyes to protect them. Dolphins can also see very well at night, just like cats and dogs.

22 Crocodiles Facts Crocodiles are reptiles Crocodiles have sharp teeth.
Crocodiles have the strongest bite of any animal in the world. The saltwater crocodile is the largest species of crocodile. Crocodiles can survive for a long time without food.

23 Panda facts Pandas can poop up to 40 times a day
99%of a Panda’s diet is bamboo The giant panda is actually a bear An adult giant panda weights about kg. A panda’s throat has a special lining to protect it from bamboo splinters.

24 African elephant facts
African elephants weight up to 6000kg and measuring up to 3.3 m at the shoulder , the African elephant is the world’s largest land mammal. It has a trunk, long curved tusks, and massive ears.
