1 Measuring current Measuring current: current is measured in amperes
amperes is often abbreviated to amps or A the current flowing through a component in a circuit is measured using an ammeter the ammeter must be connected in series with the component                                                                                       Measuring current Measuring current: current is measured in amperes amperes is often abbreviated to amps or A the current flowing through a component in a circuit is measured using an ammeter the ammeter must be connected in series with the component

2 Measuring current: current is measured in amperes amperes is often abbreviated to amps or A the current flowing through a component in a circuit is measured using an ammeter the ammeter must be connected in series with the component                                                                                       Measuring voltage Voltage is the measure of potential difference. It tells us how much ‘push’ is left in the circuit. Cells or batteries often provide the voltage. Measuring potential difference: voltage is measured in volts, V voltage across a component in a circuit is measured using a voltmeter the voltmeter must be connected in parallel with the component

3 Electricity bingo Draw a grid of 9 squares like the one opposite.
Choose 9 answers from below and put one in each square. Parallel, Series, Current, Voltmeter, Ammeter, Low-energy light bulbs, Fuse, Copper, Potential difference, Battery, Energy, Lamp, Negative, Amp, Volt. Cross off the answers as the questions matching them appear on the slides, when you have crossed all nine off, shout ‘bingo’ © Teachable and Joanne Holloway. Some rights reserved.
