1 Revelation Part 3 Lesson 10

2 Review of God’s promises
FOR ISRAEL Canaan IS their land forever At some time in the future they will return to Him with their whole heart The land will be prepared to sustain them when they return God will gather them from the nations and bring them back to their land He will put His Spirit inside of them They will be His people and He will be their God

3 Jeremiah 31:23-40 Israel will return to their land
God will restore their fortunes God will watch over them to build and plant They will all know Him He will forgive their iniquity (salvation) The city will be rebuilt and not destroyed forever, anymore WHEN? At the end of the last 3 ½ years, 2nd Coming, beginning of Jesus’ 1,000 yr. reign As sure as the order of nature: sun, moon, stars, seas……….

4 Timing of these promises
Israel was dispersed AGAIN and Jerusalem was destroyed in A.D. 70 Paul said in Romans ALL Israel will be saved, which hasn’t happened yet The time of the Gentiles has not come to an end yet. This is future

5 Hebrews 10:1-22 Jesus inaugurated a New and Living way
He entered the holy place through His flesh His flesh was represented by the veil in the temple, torn in two from top to bottom Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant of law and prophecy bringing in the New Covenant Jesus brought forgiveness of sin by His blood New Covenant will not be completely fulfilled UNTIL ALL Israel is saved

6 Acts 2:1-21 The Day of Pentecost
Believers were Jews; thousands of them The Church began with Israel receiving the promised Holy Spirit Promises of the New Covenant were not all completely fulfilled at that time All mankind, not just Israel would receive the Holy Spirit Men, women, young and old: not just certain men

7 Acts 10 Cornelius: Gentiles became believers
Holy Spirit came on ALL who listened to the message Heard: (191) Akouo- properly, to hear; figuratively, to hear God’s voice which prompts Him to birth faith within This was about 8 years after Acts 2, Pentecost

8 Ephesians 2:11 – 3:7 Jew and Gentile are now in ONE body
Both have access by One Spirit to the Father Whoever believes in Jesus Christ becomes a partaker of the promises The time is coming when ALL Israel will be saved Most of Israel rejects their Messiah, but there is a remnant He WILL gather them, take them through the fire and save them

9 New Covenant Back to Hebrews 10:1-22
Jesus takes away the 1st in order to establish the 2nd God promised to make a New Covenant Now it is on their hearts and in their minds NOT a reminder of sins year by year Clear conscience Forgives sin Stops the need for sin offerings Gives us confidence to enter the Holy Place Jesus’ blood: not blood of bulls and goats….

10 Application How does this apply to you? Is God finished with Israel?
Are His promises ONLY for Israel? Do you live like a New Covenant believer or do you hold the Law over your head in condemnation? Jesus doesn’t. Do you enter into His presence boldly? Is Jesus enough for you? How do the feasts factor in? They are a foreshadowing, pointing to Jesus.
