As a group we came up with problems that are affecting our society:
Children with out the necessary resources
Inner city children not succeeding
Kids not going to school
Kids living in an improvised areas

6. What is Cathy’s Kids?
Cathy’s Kids, a foundation aimed at helping urban youths get opportunities he never had.
Under-privileged youth that live in the inner cities of New York and Los Angeles.
Make sure they have access to some or all of the following:
1. Educational tools such as books and computers
2. Mentoring and tutoring services (life skills, guidance, academics)
3. Recreational opportunities (sports equipment, team and individual sports)

7. Lamar Joseph Odom Born on November 6, 1979
Lamar was raised by his mother, Cathy Mercer
Tragically, Cathy Mercer was struck by colon cancer when Lamar was 12.
Grew up in South Jamaica, Queens, an area of New York City ravaged by the crack cocaine epidemic of the 1980s and 90s.
As early as seven years old, he saw himself playing in the NBA one day.

Founded by Lamar Odom in March 2004.
Developed as his charitable efforts and focus on making a positive impact on the lives of under-privileged children.
Targeted a disease that has played a significant role in his life, cancer.
Committed to help causes that are focused on finding a cure and helping people who suffer from the disease.

9. Economic Sustainability?
Lamar Odom’s foundation helps the economy by buying school supplies for under privileged children in cities where most kids don’t have the money to even buy some food for themselves.
By providing all this equipment to the children he helps the economy’s future through education.
