1 Checking the setup for Big Band backing track recording
Gus Campbell

2 Piano/Drums The piano and drums had to be moved slightly because Jason (the piano player for Big Band) had requested that we move it slightly. There was concern for the drums next to the piano because they were not miked but they were able to be picked up by the microphone for the big Xylophone. There was also concerns about the quality of the Rode NT-55’s over the drum set. It worked out in the end because Rode NT-55’s are condenser microphones and are good at picking up drums according to Mr Marsland.

3 Microphone for the big Xylophone
Single Rode NT-55 for the big Xylaphone.

4 Mic Sends The leads for the mics over the instruments were in the right mic sends.

5 Amp/DI The amp/DI setup was good. Nothing out of place there.

6 Mic sends into Tie lines
The mic sends were going into the wrong tie-lines. The signal was supposed to be going into the control room, but went into Adamson hall by accident. The problem was quickly fixed.
