2 Who are we? Alumni network of pharmacy fellows from the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s (NHSE, NHS Digital, HEE, CPPE, NICE and CQC), Darzi, NIHR/CLARHC, Q and AHSN fellowship schemes Mid-career/grade Pharmacy professionals who have done or are on a Fellowship (past and present) PGCert or other qualification / experience in Health Leadership and Management “proactive, innovative and effective” Explain acronyms Mel – bit about CPOs and Darzi Gareth – NIHR/CLARHC

3 What have we done? Darzi CPO HEE
Integrating secondary care with community pharmacy to support patients who take oral anticancer therapy Design of a foundation pharmacist training programme across North West London, incorporating primary care & mental health Developing an education framework for healthcare workers supporting people with diabetes in Lewisham Detecting cases of undiagnosed dementia in community settings including housing schemes & community health teams CPO Development of new learning programmes to support hospital practice and implementation of Carter Review recommendations Lead on identifying training needs & solutions of building a digital ready workforce RCP practice guide & toolkit to support junior doctor prescribing HEE Safer Diabetes. A review of errors with a view to introducing systems and frameworks to improve safety Then Gareth, Mel and Emily introduce their own programmes 5 mins each about the project – introduction / title, aims, outcomes/outputs and impact and recommendations going forward inc next steps The recurrent theme is cross boundary – this links to the STPs

5 What do we do? Purposes of the network are to:
Stay in touch, support each other and collaborate on future work Spread national messages through our extensive networks Provide a single point of contact to national and regional organisations Promote wider system thinking, fellowships and opportunities to other pharmacy professionals Resource to others, supportive of new fellows e.g. CPC 17 and RPS

6 What can we offer? Creativity, energy and innovation in a tough climate of uncertainty Promoters of collaborative working and cross-boundary relationships A resource / pool of fellows who can use skills to help Chief Pharmacists achieve their workstreams (support implementation) Mentorship (leadership and health) to new Fellows and mid-grade pharmacists Build leadership capability in organisations Mel to give example of being a mentor We have come from the front line and are able to bridge the gap between front line and senior management as peers
