1 ATIS’ Cloud Services Activity
Document No: GSC17-PLEN-64 Source: ATIS Contact: Andrew White, GSC Session: PLEN Agenda Item: 6.11 ATIS’ Cloud Services Activity Andrew White Principal Consultant Nokia Siemens Networks

2 Highlight of Current Activities
To achieve wide distribution of service assets, the Cloud Services Forum (CSF) is building a common framework to include an: Inventory of reusable software functions; and End-to-end service management. CSF is focused on promoting cloud value through creation of: Advanced solutions for unified visual communications; and CDN-I deployment models and federation. CSF outreach to GSC SDOs for the purpose of establishing globally compatible cloud assets. 2

3 Highlight of Current Activities
Cloud Lifecycle Checklist Tools and Automation Information Model Service Inventory Reference Architecture Business Process Service Specifications Unified Visual Communications Content Delivery Virtual Desktop CSF is integrating functions into aggregated service experiences to develop unique and useful functions for inclusion in multiple service experiences ATIS Reference Architecture Service Enabler Characterization Enabler Specific Specifications CSF builds cloud value through reusable service inventory and reduced integration cost.

4 Highlight of Current Activities
Access Control Network Service Mgmt IT Systems User Profile Trust & Identity IMS Session Control Communications APIs for WebRTC Unified Visual Solutions Video over LTE Progressing Inter-provider unified visual communications in the cloud: Interconnection between AT&T and Verizon with Cisco, Microsoft, and Polycom. 14 attributes verified per endpoint pair resulting in 500 total tests. Developer communities accelerate the process by building third party apps that use the same building blocks.

5 Highlight of Current Activities
Evaluation of broker and federated Content Delivery Network-Interconnection (CDN-I) models is ongoing Mapping and specification of use cases and requirements for multicast-based content delivery to mobile end-user devices is underway CSF efforts to progress solutions have resulted in use cases/requirements to support the lifecycle of SP/CDN interactions. Ongoing work with IETF regarding cached and multicast delivery of CDN-I

6 Challenges Horizontal integration and compatibility of work across SDOs enabling globally interoperable communications and cloud infrastructure solutions Supporting the openness required for mass adoption while respecting the intellectual property of innovation Match the fast pace of web providers with an agile standards model that tightly couples service definition with software development in incremental cycles Encouraging developers to use multi-vendor, standards-based software over single supplier verticals

7 Next Steps/Actions CSF continues on a fast-track in 2013:
Meets face-to-face on a quarterly basis to drive CSF and joint committee efforts; and Convenes weekly virtual meetings to progress work. CSF key priorities for 2013: Progress industry solutions for unified visual communications including IMS and WebRTC; Define CDN-I deployment models; and Produce use cases and requirements for multicast delivery to mobile end-user handsets.

8 Proposed Resolution ATIS supports the reaffirmation of GSC-16/31: Service Oriented Networks ATIS supports the reaffirmation of GSC-16/32: Cloud Computing
