3 Cringe Verb To draw back from something painful
I cringed as I watched the skier tumble down the slope.

4 Quandary Noun A difficult situation
As we sunk deeper into the quicksand, the elderly English explorer turned to me and said, “This is quite a quandary, eh?”

5 Envision Verb Form a mental picture
I envisioned the painting. It would be a masterpiece. For now, however, all I have is blank canvas.

6 Scapegoat Noun The person blamed for the wrong actions of someone else

10 Nurture Verb To help someone or something grow or improve
She decided to give up her bad habits, they were getting in the way of nurturing her children.

11 Deluge Noun Very heavy rainfall. Something that overwhelms like a flood Verb To be overwhelmed with something or someone He left the club, fleeing the deluge of noise.
