1 Sales Tax Referendum for EMS Quick Facts
Purpose: To enhance Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the citizens of Bladen County. Citizen education paid for by Bladen County Local Government. For more information, or bladeninfo.org.

2 ►Sales Tax Revenue would be used exclusively for Emergency Medical Services (EMS). ►Would enhance service level for citizens by providing critically needed full-time staff and equipment.

3 Q: How much more would the ¼% sales tax cost me in purchases?
Taxable Goods x ¼% = Tax Impact $100 Purchase x = 0.25 cents $300 Purchase x = 0.75 cents $500 Purchase x = $1.25

4 Q: Would this apply to everything I buy?
¼ cent does NOT apply to: Groceries Gas Utilities Prescription Drugs Certain agricultural supplies Motor Vehicles

5 Tourists and visitors from other counties and states will generate revenue for critical Bladen County services. In 2013, Bladen County ranked 67 out of 100 North Carolina counties in tourism impact with $36.42 million passing through Bladen County.

6 An additional ¼ cent sales tax would generate approximately $460,000 annually for Emergency Medical Services.

7 Q: What will this proposal look like on the ballot?
Bladen County Sales and Use Tax Local sales and use tax at the rate of one-quarter percent (0.25%) in addition to all other State and local sales and use taxes. For Against Citizen education paid for by Bladen County Local Government. For more information, or bladeninfo.org.
