1 10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them
10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them. 11If they say, “Come along with us; let’s lie in wait for someone’s blood, let’s waylay some harmless soul; 12let’s swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; 13 we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; 14 throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse”— 15 my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; 16 for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood. 17 How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds! 18 These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves! 19 Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it. 1:10

2 20 He who walks with the wise grows wise,
but a companion of fools suffers harm. 13:20 29 A violent man entices his neighbor and leads him down a path that is not good. 16:29 24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, 25 or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared. 22:24-25

3 2 Cor 6:14-18 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God.

4 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.

5 16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view
16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 2 Cor 5

6 20 The poor are shunned even by their neighbors, but the rich have many friends. 14:20
4 Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man’s friend deserts him. 19:4 5 Whoever flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for his feet. 29:5

7 28 A perverse man stirs up dissension,
and a gossip separates close friends. 16:28 18 Like a madman shooting firebrands or deadly arrows 19 is a man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I was only joking!” 26:18-19 17 A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated. 14:17

8 19 Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening. 20 For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder Cor 12:19-20

12 24 A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. 18:24 17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. 17:17 10 Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother’s house when disaster strikes you— better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away. 27:10

13 17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. 27:17 6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. 27:6 9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one’s friend springs from his earnest counsel. 27:9

14 26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship (or is a guide to his neighbor),
but the way of the wicked leads them astray. 12:26 26 The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, But the way of the wicked leads them astray. NASB translation

15 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3

16 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:19-24
