NCD alliance - The purpose of the NCD Alliance website is to provide the latest news, resources and information on the global campaign for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The website will serve as a campaign hub, a platform for advocacy, and a resource for sharing information among the wider global health community. - We are a formal alliance of four international federations representing the four main NCDs outlined in the World Health Organization’s Action Plan for NCDs – cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and chronic respiratory disease. These conditions share common risk factors (including use, physical inactivity and unhealthy diets) and also share common solutions, which provide a mutual platform for collaboration and joint advocacy. Surveillance in youth Global school-based student health survey (GSHS) The Global school-based student health survey (GSHS) is a collaborative surveillance project designed to help countries measure and assess the behavioural risk factors and protective factors in 10 key areas among young people aged 13 to 15 years (Alcohol use, Dietary behaviours, Drug use, Hygiene, Mental health, Physical activity, Protective factors, Sexual behaviours, Tobacco use, Violence and unintentional injury). Questions: 1. What is the percentage of students who had at least one drink containing alcohol over one or more days during the past 30 days in Swaziland and Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam)? 2.
