From: Staphylococcal Infections Red Book® 2015, 2015 Figure Legend: A 2-year-old with "pus bumps in her hair." This girl developed pustules in the part line of her hairstyle. She developed these about 5 days after having her hair braided. She was noted to have hair breakage in the temporal areas. Small papules progressed into frank pustules that contained a small amount of pus. The lesions resolved with a change in hairstyle that did not stretch the hairs and periodic shampooing. No antibiotics were required. These pustules are called traction folliculitis or impetigo of Bockhart.
