10. Case Study:
In the summer of 2001, President George W. Bush (USA) wanted to obtain natural gas supplies from Alaska and the Northwest Territories. This project would require the construction of above-ground pipelines through the Northwest Territories and Alberta. The country needed the natural resources that could be gained from this project. However, there were others who believed that the pipelines would interfere with caribou migration and create great potential for environmental disaster. As a result, they were readily opposed to the idea.
OUTCOME = PIPELINES WERE NOT CONSTRUCTED
