4. What is Temptation? It is a trial, a test of one’s faithfulness
James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kind

5. Temptation Defined
to test (objectively), i.e. endeavor, scrutinize, entice, discipline:-assay, examine, go about, prove, tempt(-er), try.

7. Who or What Tempts Us? Not God! He cannot tempt us!
Jas. 1:13 - Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man
God is the source of all good things!
James 1: Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
He allows us to be tried!

8. Progression of Temptation!
“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
James 1:14-15
Fruit of Temptation = SIN then DEATH!
Romans 6:23 – “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.”

Used by the Devil from the beginning!

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”

1 Cor. 15:33-34  Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character. 34 Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame
To be Godly, surround yourself with Godly people!
Remember the power of leaven!
1 Cor. 5:6 – “your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”
Evil influences can rub-off on you!
