1 Collective Impact: Assessing Our Targets

2 COMPARISON OF GLOBAL EMISSION LEVELS RESULTING FROM THE INTENDED NATIONALLY CONTRIBUTIONS IN 2025 AND 2030 WITH OTHER TRAJECTORIES (source:

3 Canada’s Policy Projections and Fair share

4 Estimated GHG Emissions in Ottawa
The city targeted a 20% drop in emissions between 2004 and 2012. Reduction was 12% (due to coal phase out) The performance of the City’s building portfolio continues to improve, with a 7% reduction in energy intensity between and 2015. Current target is GHG reduction of 20% per capita of 2012 levels by 2024. With anticipated population growth this would mean an actual decline of 12%.  Long-term target of 80% reduction by 2050.

5 Projected Community Emissions
Currently at 5.8 tCO2e per capita Community emissions could increase from 5,420 kt in 2012 to approximately 5,980 kt by 2021. Need to reduce per capita emissions to 4.6 tCO2e This will lead to a decrease of 12% by 2021
