Analysing an Extract Try to contextualise it – where about in the book is the extract from? Look closely at the beginning and the end – why does it start and end this way? Look closely at the extract. How does the writer present the two characters and their relationship? Write about: the way they talk the things they say what we learn about their characters what we learn about their relationship
