2 Hindus believe a person is born into one of four castes based on karma-how he or she lived their past lives.

4 Brahman is the highest caste of ancient India
Brahman is the highest caste of ancient India. Brahmans in ancient Indian society class (Varna) of the priests. The priests, the Brahmins made sacrifices to the gods, performed rituals, served as a the advisers of kings held in their hands a monopoly on literacy, the sacred texts of knowledge. The basis of division of society into Varna was the conviction that people are the same, each person has their duty-Dharma and his way of life.

5 Kshatriyas

Amazingly, members of this caste could not even step on the shadow of the representatives of the higher classes. And only recently they were allowed to enter the temples and approach to people of other classes.
