7. Lines Elevation
If you walk along a slope without going up or down you will be following a line on the same elevation or topographic line

The line is long and follows the outline of the island

The line around the island is shorter

The line is very short with only the very top showing.

You must ask “what is the contour interval?” or space between contours 10 meter, 100 feet?
This map shows 10 meters. The peak height is 30m plus.
What if the interval is 200 meters.

17. If doesn’t matter what the interval is, closer is steeper, wider is flatter. How steep will be depend on the contour interval

20. What terrain is between A & C?
Flat > increasing slope > steeper > peak > shallower down slope > getting steeper as the drainage is crossed
