Forgiveness does not minimize or deny your pain Forgiveness does not condone the offense Forgiveness does not mean that the offender deserves it Forgiveness does not diminish the seriousness of the offense Forgiveness does not necessitate forgetting Forgiveness does not mean reconciliation

Forgiveness does not forgo boundaries. Forgiveness does not mean that there are no consequences. Forgiveness is not a feeling. Forgiveness does not necessitate trust. Forgiveness is different to processing pain Forgiveness is not conditional.

10 Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, 11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes Corinthians 2:10-11 NIV 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots Luke 23:34 NIV 1.Forgiveness is a choice, a crisis of the will 2.Forgiveness is agreeing to live with the consequences of another person’s sin. 3.Forgiveness is for your sake, not the other person. 4.Forgiveness is being a minister of reconciliation. 5.Forgiveness of others displays mercy.

7 Hidden Wounds- Forgiveness
Lord, I choose to forgive (name of person you to need to forgive), for (what the person or persons did to hurt you), even though it made me feel (share what painful feelings it caused you). Lord, I choose not hold any of these things against (name of person), any longer. I thank you Heavenly Father for setting me free from the bondage of my bitterness/unforgiveness toward (name of person). Heavenly Father I ask You to bless (name of person), in Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
