1 (A–D) Radiographs made of a hollow plastic pipe from two different perspectives produce two entirely different images. Look at the radiographs. The image (C) reveals that the pipe is hollow but tells nothing about the length of the pipe. The image (D) reveals the length and width dimensions of the pipe. Without having seen the pipe or the other radiograph, it is still possible to deduce that this object is tubular with a less dense center because of the appearance of dense borders contrasting with the less dense center.
