For every real number a, b, and c
a(b + c) = ab + ac (b + c)a = ba + ca
a(b – c) = ab – ac (b – c)a = ba – ca

9(30 – 2) = 9(30) – 9(2) (30 – 2)9 = 30(9) – 2(9)
