7 Moving the Vision into Practice
Public Consulting Group 7/18/2018 Moving the Vision into Practice “These expectations (of the new standards) necessitate robust professional learning experiences and systems for teachers that prioritize the Standards and include high-quality content, multiple delivery modes (such as workshops, feedback systems, and coaching), and enhanced opportunities for teachers to collaborate and reflect as they look at student work, plan for instruction, and observe each other.” Aspen Institute (2013) Slide provides a transition to CBAM. Ask participant to read the quote. Relate back to “higher bar” the change process. Ask, “How must we consider the change process in professional learning about the Florida Standards? How can we gauge where teachers are and what they need next?” Reference: Implementation of the Common Core State Standards: A transition guide for school-level leaders. (September 2013). Washington, DC: Aspen Institute.

8 Transitioning to the Florida Standards Project Description
In 2012, PCG Education teamed up with the Florida DOE to offer face-to-face professional learning to support charter schools in transitioning to the Florida Standards. 28 modules were developed including Facilitator Guides, PowerPoint Presentations, and Participant Guides, along with toolkits and planning protocols specific to implementing the Florida Standards. In summer of 2014, modules were transformed into e-learning formats and offered as a blended model of online coursework with customized follow-up coaching to charter schools.
