A budget will give you a starting point of how much you will spend. Allows you to measure and monitor how you are doing. When reviewed periodically will give early warning signs so that actions can be taken sooner than later. Will identify if anyone is stealing or abusing costs. Verify if you are charging enough. Book all job invoices to the correct job, using cost codes related to the job budget Monitoring job reports periodically allows management to identify issues early and make adjustments that affect profitability and growth Look for job budget inconsistencies (is anyone stealing from company?) Make sure you are charging enough to cover your cost otherwise make adjustments to cost so it does not happen again.
