4. Honor hardworking elders
1 Timothy 5:17 – The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

5. Responsibilities elders carry
1 Peter 5:1-4 – So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder … 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them… 3 being examples to the flock...
Hebrews 13:17 – Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account.
1 Timothy 4:16 – Pay close attention to your life and to your teaching.

6. Confronting sin
Titus 3:10-11 – As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self- condemned.
Galatians 6:1 – Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

7. Help your elders enjoy their work
Hebrews 13:17 - Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
