God can work in spectacular ways (28:1-10) A. The Lord used the bite of a viper (28:1-6) An unbeliever cannot ignore the miraculous. An unbeliever will misunderstand or misinterpret the miraculous. An unbeliever needs a new mind to understand the miraculous. “5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:5-8).

9 Honor with Honors “They also honored us with many marks of respect [lit. honors]; and when we were setting sail, they supplied us with all we needed” (Acts 28:10). “The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).

10 The Gospel The gospel is the good news that God became man in Jesus Christ; that He lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died in our place on the cross. Three days later He rose from the dead, just as He said, proving that He is the Son of God and offering the gift of salvation (eternal life) to all who, by faith, repent of their sins and receive Jesus as both Lord and Savior.
