5. Color Depth
The number of bits per pixel that can be displayed on a computer screen.
The more bits per pixel, the more colors displayed
Each bit is composed of 2 values: 0 and 1
For example:
Bits per Pixel
Color Depth 1
21 = 2 4
24 = 16 8
28 = 256

6. Compression Compression refers to how the image is stored
The greater the compression, the lower the quality
Two types:
Lossless
Reduces the file size without losing any pixel information
Quality is not compromised
Lossy
Alters and/or eliminates some pixels
The more the image is reduced, the more the quality is degraded
