2. There are 3 parts and take around 15 minutes:
Part 1: The examiner asks
the candidate about him,
herself, his/her home,
work or studies and
other families topics.
You are expected
to talk fluently and
easily for about 5 minutes.

3. Examples: Let’s talk about your home town or village.
What’s the most interesting part of your home area?
What kind of jobs do the people in your town/village do?
Would you say it is a good place to live? Why?
What changes would you like to make to your home town?

4. Let’s talk about what you do.
Work
What’s your job? Why did you choose that kind of work?
What is a typical day like at your work?
Are there things your don’t like about it? What are they?
Study
What subjects are you studying?
What is the best thing about studying?

5. Now, let’s talk about physical activity.
Do you play any sports? Which sports do you play?
Which sports are most popular for watching in your country?
Is this the same for men and women?

6. In Part 2, you have to speak for 1-2 minutes by yourself, without stopping, on a topic the examiner will give you.
You have one minute to get ready and make some notes.
You can make some notes to help you if you wish.

8. Examples: Describe a wedding you have been to: You should say:

What you had to choose between
Whether you made a good choice and explain how you felt when you were making this choice

10. The time limit for Part 3 is about 3-4 minutes. The examiner will

12. Tips:
Giving full, relevant answers to the examiner's questions will help get the interview off to a good start.
Avoid giving short, uncommunicative replies.
Avoid short, 'yes', 'no' answers to closed questions. (These are questions beginning 'Have you ...', 'Do you ...', 'Is it ...' etc, which can be answered simply with a yes or no answer).
Offer examples to help you explain a statement.

13. If you need time to collect your thoughts use expressions (sparingly) like: 'That's a good question.', 'Well, let me think ...'.
If the examiner asks a question that you don't understand, take control of the situation with questions such:
If the examiner uses a word or phrase that you don't understand, say something like:
"Sorry but could you explain what you mean by " or
"I haven't come across that word/expression before. Could you explain what you mean?“

14. If you simply didn't hear something that was asked, respond with:
"Excuse me, I didn't quite catch that. Could you say that again?"
"I'm sorry, but would you mind repeating that?"

"Do you mean "
"When you say , do you mean/are you asking ?
