draft-ietf-adslmib-gshdslbis-08.txt Reason for the draft
RFC 3276 needed to be updated or obsoleted in order to add support for G.shdsl.bis. The basic G.shdsl.bis enhancements consist of adding support for up to 4 wire pairs (8-wires) and increasing line rates. In addition, some objects were added to supplement the ability to manage a span. The additional objects added were: maximum attainable payload rate actual payload rate tip and ring reversal status current activation state

Time Line -00 to Present 3/16/2004 Bob Ray submitted version 00 along with the updated MIB module (gshdslbis.mib) to the I-D Editor. The idea was to revise RFC 3276 by submitting changes such as was done with the rmon draft. This version updated RFC 3276 to support up to 4 wire pairs and an increase of the line rates. 3/19/2004 Clay Sikes took over as the primary editor for the draft. 3/26/2004 There were some problems getting the files posted on IETF ADSL MIB Web Page. Bob Ray, Michael Sneed, and Clay Sikes determined that it may be best to do produce a draft that will obsolete RFC 3267 as opposed to revise it.

Time Line (continued) 4/9/2004 The files submitted on 3/16 became available on the IETF ADSL MIB Web Page. 6/8/2004 Version 01 was submitted to the I-D Editor. This was a full version intended to obsolete RFC 3276 that included the supplemental objects listed above. 6/21/2004 Version 02 was submitted to the I-D Editor. Some or all of the supplemental objects added were syntactically incorrect. Corrected the environment for libsmi that allowed the errors to be identified and corrected. 8/20/2004 Michael Sneed (ADSL MIB Chair) issues a WG Last Call for version 03.

Time Line (continued) 8/26/2004 Version 03 was submitted to the I-D Editor. Changes addressed Randy Presuhn's (Technical Advisor) comments communicated on 8/24/2004. 8/27/2004 Version 04 was submitted to the I-D Editor. When 03 was submitted, the text in the document wasn't updated to 03. 9/10/2004 Version 05 was submitted to the I-D Editor. Cleaned up some dangling references discovered by Randy Presuhn on 9/2/2004. 9/23/2004 Michael Sneed issued a deadline for any additional issues for 10/30/2004.

Time Line (continued) 9/29/2004 Version 06 was submitted to the I-D Editor. Changes addressed Bert Wijnen's (OAM Area Advisor) comments communicated on 9/23/2004. 10/6/2004 Version 07 was submitted to the I-D Editor. Changes addressed Randy Presuhn's comments communicated on 10/5/2004. 10/27/2004 Bert and Randy indicated the draft is ready for an IETF Last Call. 11/17/2004 Michael Sneed requested a promotion of the draft to Proposed Standard. Draft added by Barbara Fuller in state Publication Requested.

Time Line (continued) 1/3/2005 State changed from Publication Requested to AD Evaluation by Bert. 1/8/2005 C.M. Heard communicated issues from a MIB Doctor Review of version 07. 1/10/2005 Clay agreed to address the issues raised by the MIB Doctor review in a new version before an IETF Last Call is executed. 1/12/2005 Bert changed the state of the draft from AD Evaluation to Revised ID Needed. Current Version 08 submitted in 2/2005.
