3. History Skating was invented in 3,000 BC and is still used now.
Ice skating is very popular in some countries.
The first skates were made of animal bones in 3,000 BC….
Then the Netherlands made (in the 13th or the 14th century) these skates that were made of steel.

4. People used skates as a way of crossing frozen lakes and rivers in the winter. Figure skating started when skaters started trying various spins and jumps on ice.
Now skating is just a sport or a hobby, especially in countries where it’s very cold for example Holland.

8. Kids on Ice
Kids on Ice is my club, it exists for 22 years. I have been skating for nearly 4 years. I am the best in my group and I like it a lot. In April we used to do a big shows where also famous Olympic skaters perform their dance. This year they teach us synchronized skating. We do small shows in many cities.

Kids on Ice world record
On Sunday March , Kids on Ice made history. In the sportcentrum Eindhoven the children of Kids on the Ice made the 'largest ice skating pinwheel' or 'the world's largest skating mill” ever. The record has been recognized by the jury of Guinness World Record.
