1 The Ninth POMS-HK International Conference
6-7 January 2018 Call for Paper The Ninth POMS-HK International Conference will be organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from 6-7 January The conference will be held in the beautiful campus of CUHK in Shatin. Since its beginning, the POMS-HK International Conference has been a great platform for researchers and practitioners from greater China and beyond to exchange research ideas and industry practices in production and operations management. The theme of the conference this year is “OM and Analytics ― The New Horizon”. You are invited to submit abstract/papers that are related to the following themes: Manufacturing operations management and innovation Service operations management and innovation Applied research Innovation analytics and data-driven OM E-commerce Quality management Service and production scheduling Sustainable operations management Supply chain management Logistics management Global operations management Healthcare operations management Humanitarian and crisis management Interface between OM and other fields: accounting, finance, marketing, information system, new product development, R&D Risk management Revenue management Empirical studies in the service and operations management Behavior operations management Emerging OM issues

2 Best Student Paper Competition
Abstract Submission Abstract should include a title, the names and affiliations of all authors (please indicate the presenting author), and 3-5 keywords. Please also select at least one topic from the above list. The length of the abstract should be no more than 100 words. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed. Accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website only if the presenting author has registered for the conference by the registration deadline for presenting authors (which is December 11, 2017). Abstract should be submitted by to with subject “POMS HK 2018 Abstract Submission”. Important Dates Best Student Paper Competition Awards The first-place will receive HK$4000. The second-place will receive HK$2000. Each honorable mention will receive HK$500. Eligibility Requirements and Author Guidelines Competition participants should be students. The paper should be led and presented by the student during the conference. Each participant is required to register the conference and submit only one entry for competition. Failure to register the conference may lose the eligibility of the competition. 3 Enquires Award Selection Criteria
Paper topic must fit the conference’s theme. The submitted paper should be written in English, and the presentation should be conducted in English as well. To participate in the competition, please submit an electronic form (in MS-Word or PDF format and should not exceed 32 pages) with paper/presentation title, author names, and the corresponding author’s phone/fax number and the submission with subject “Best Student Paper Competition” to on or before November 6, The format of the paper should follow that of the manuscripts submitted for consideration by Production and Operations Management which is available at Submissions for student paper competition will be considered for conference automatically (and hence please do not submit the same paper for conference presentation). Award Selection Criteria Each paper/presentation will be evaluated based on two criteria: Academic significance (originality, depth, completeness, and work’s potential impact on future research).
