Quick Tips Tutorial How to Access EBSCOhost and EBSCO Discovery Service Reports in EBSCOadmin support.ebsco.com

Reports and statistics are an effective management tool which you can use to monitor EBSCOhost database or EDS usage at your institution. The usage reports you access can be used for internal reporting, shared with resource donors, or used to refine your training or promotion needs.

Begin by logging in to EBSCOadmin.

Click Reports & Statistics to view the reporting options available to you.

A variety of reporting options are available from the Reports & Statistics screen depending on the EBSCO products to which you subscribe, including Counter compliant reports available through the Counter R4 Reports link.

To access EBSCOhost database and EDS statistics, click Standard Usage Reports.

The Standard Usage Reports screen gives you the ability to generate reports based on Database or Interface usage, Link Activity, Login type, and Title usage. After selecting a report, choose your parameters, select the Download delivery option, and click Create Report for Download to save it to your computer. Or you can choose the delivery option to send it to addresses you specify, or schedule a recurring report.

Link Activity Reports capture statistics on visits to or from a specified target, when linking from one to another is involved. For example, this report could show you how many times users of your institution's web site linked into EBSCOhost. You can also view how many times your users linked from EBSCOhost to your institution's CustomLinks.

Login Usage Reports capture statistics on how users are accessing your EBSCO interfaces. Select an activity type to view statistics for the Login Methods being used, the IP addresses of your users, Browser and Operating Systems, or the Mobile Devices accessing your products. Browser and Operating System reports can be further refined to also display the specific versions with which users are accessing EBSCO.

Click Standard Usage Analytics to access the Usage Analytics screen.

The Standard Usage Analytics screen offers the Database, Interface, and Login Usage reports in an interactive graph that offers a quick glance at your users’ activity. The Monthly Usage Trend graph plots the last 13 months of usage for each of the three reports. Hover your pointer over the graph to view counts for a specific month. The summary box on the right displays the total counts as well as the counts for each month as your move your pointer. Clicking a metric in the summary box removes it from the monthly trend graph.

The Database and Interface analytics reports also include a report grid below the graph report. The report grid displays counts for the previous 13 months, broken down by all databases and interfaces that have had at least one use in the last 13 months for any of the pre-selected metrics. Columns can be hidden or displayed using the Show/Hide Columns drop-down menu. Use the search box to search for specific databases or interfaces to display only those statistics in the grid.

The Login Usage analytics report is broken down by Login Method, Device, Operating System, and Browser. Click the View More link for the report you would like displayed in the graph.

At any time, click on the Help link to view the complete online Help system.

You can also EBSCO Tech Support by clicking the Contact Support link at Or visit to view the schedule of regularly offered EBSCOadmin training sessions.
