3 Figure 4 Survival data from both the National Institutes of Health sponsored Nocturnal Oxygen Therapy trial and the British Medical Research Council study. The display shows that in the Nocturnal Oxygen Therapy Trial, continuous oxygen therapy (COT) had improved survival over nocturnal oxygen therapy (NOT). Nocturnal oxygen therapy was similar to oxygen used for approximately 15 hours per day in the MRC study and this had better survival than the MRC control group.
