8. Principle of temperature measurement
Noncontact temperature measurement of object surface:

Right variant: object with assured deposit covers spot of sighting (square of measurement).
Wrong variant: spot of sighting is bigger than object, pyrometer will underrate the value, because it will measure average value t.

Sighting value SV of pyrometers BALTECH TL  this is a ratio between
pyrometer and object of measurement (D - distance) to diameter of sighting spot.
The sighting spot is a minimum diameter of radiating square (S - square), which is necessary for temperature control.

In pyrometers BALTECH TL
Emanation coefficient EC(or emissivity factor) - ε shows ratio of thermal emission energy «grey body» according to Stefan-Boltzman law, to emission of «Absolutely black body» (ABB) at the same temperature.
Emanation coefficient of ABB ε = 1 or 100%.
At temperatures higher environmental temperature:
If high emanation coefficient is established, reflected measurement temperature will be low.
If low emanation coefficient is established,, reflected measurement temperature will be high.
At temperatures lower environmental temperature:

12. Emanation coefficient (EC)
Mistaken (or inaccurate) choice of emanation coefficient is a basic source of inaccuracy for all pyrometric techniques of temperature measurement. Oxidation of metal surface influences on emanation coefficient.
For example, if oxidized steel has this parameter and is approximately 0,88, then galvanized steel is only 0,28.
