2 Pusillanimous Def: (Adj.) Contemptibl y cowardly or mean – spirited
Syn: craven, lily-livered Ant: Stouthearted , courageous, daring Perhaps one of the most memorable characters from “ The Wizard of Oz” was the pusillanimous lion.

3 Concord (N) a state of agreement, harmony, unanimity; a treaty, pact
A concord was held between the yellow- bellied and star-bellied sneetches, and peace resulted

4 Consummate (adj.) complete or perfect in the highest degree;
(v.) to bring to a state of completion or perfection. Lawyers must consummate settlements in order to begin trials Consummate

5 Incumbent (adj) obligatory, required; (n) one who holds a specific office at the time spoken of The incumbent has an advantage When running for reelection due to his previous popularity, but is not guaranteed victory.

6 Nettle (n) a prickly or stinging plant; (v) to arouse displeasure, impatience, or anger; to vex or irritate severely Leroy got a cut on his finger from touching the nettle, mistaking it for a non-prickly plant.

7 Bastion (n.) a fortified place, stronghold

22 Stratagem Def: (n.) a scheme to outwit or deceive an opponent or to gain an end Syn: ruse, trick, ploy, subterfuge In order to be victorious in a game of chess, one must employ the use of a statagem.
